    • Thanks. This one took awhile. I was up in Burlington again. The air-conditioning has given out on our dying Honda Pilot. The cruise control doesn’t work. There’s a wheel squealing and chattering. The brakes are noisy. The ‘check engine light’ (which really should be Honda’s emblem) has been on for the last decade. The transmission is sticking. It drives like an ailing boat. I’m fed up with Honda. The most overrated cars in the industry. And without air-conditioning we were really feeling the heat. :)

      But the seagulls were wheeling and calling. The red-winged blackbirds were nattering in the rushes. They were enjoying the day. The afternoon’s heat reflecting off the icy waters of Lake Champlain is what inspired the haiku.
