I confess to falling asleep before writing this, but had it in mind before sleeping—if that counts? I’m guessing many of you will recognize the haiku that inspired this one. And my appreciation to every one of you who ‘favorites’ these little posts. I do notice and enjoy knowing you’ve stopped by.

I drove with my daughter up to Montpelier today. But for some swaths of late-leafing aspen, the Green Mountains are finally green. The highway’s medians are never as beautiful as now, before their first mowing, the feathery grasses interspersed with Lupine, daisies, asters, and dotted with yellow and red devil’s paint brushes. June, so far, has been a beautiful month.
