Today was in the mid-fifties. The snow was turned into a thick and wet melting. Rivulets were full of water and rills flowed over mud and matted grass. I heard something I hadn’t heard a long while—the voice and laughter of children in a playground after school. That would make a good haiku. I was already thinking up the haiku before I was stopped short. That haiku has already been written:

····and the village is flooded
········by children
