a plow
····truck thunders by—the lemon tree
Drove to Maine and back today in some of the worst weather I’ve ever driven in—a freezing rain in single digits that froze to the windshield no matter the heat inside. Finally back home, a plow truck rumbled by, shaking the house. I was reminded of Buson’s poem:
a heavy cart
····rumbles by—
········peonies tremble
Our little lemon tree is finally springing back to life after giving up its leaves in the fall.
