  • Because no self-respecting poet who writes haiku doesn’t at least once write about cherry blossom viewing.

  1. I’ve always been pretty strongly moved by the sight of cherry trees in bloom. In 2006, I attempted a rather ambitious abstract write that is focused solely on the cherry tree. If you’re curious to see, I’ll put a link here.

      This poem actually marks a turning point in my writing process. If only I was able to continue studying full time from that point on without having to hold a job. That turning point also marks a turning point in my life in general when I was no longer willing to put myself at the mercy of others in order to put a full time effort into my study of poetry.
